Imagine you enter an empty room. In the same space, there are a dozen of other people who know each well or just vaguely. A guide and a tape-recording lead you through a track of actions, perceptions and various group configurations. You hear soundscapes of everyday sounds, while the light on stage changes imperceptibly.
That is Imagine Moving Rocks in a nutshell: using game instructions, performer Katrien Oosterlinck takes you on a journey that you, as a participant, help shape. Personal experiences define the story. The classic codes of communication are thrown out and replaced with nonverbal, physical encounters. What emerges is a choreography of images resulting in a symbolic, abstract, strange and poetic experience. Imagine Moving Rocks is a game of playing with personal space, carried out by a select few, and you are one of them.
This show is a copresentation in cooperation with Vooruit Ghent.
