In Kan dus niet brand new city resident Yinka Kuitenbrouwer addresses simple things. About being human. About what is and what is not. About the many realities that give life meaning.
Young Dutch theater maker Yinka makes documentary theater. In preparation for Kan dus niet she immersed herself for three months into the world of young people - between 20 and 30 years old - with a mental disorder, and combined the material she collected during her research into this performance.
Yinka Kuitenbrouwer graduated from KASK in 2014 and starred in productions of L'hommmm, KIP and tmg LAP. She garnered success at home and abroad with her performance HonderdHuizen, in which she spoke to hundreds of people about what 'home' means to them. She received two awards for that production at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
This show is a copresentation in cooperation with Vooruit Ghent.
