HUIS
Josse De Pauw & Jan Kuijken
In this two-parter, Josse De Pauw and Jan Kuijken present an adaptation of The Strange Rider and The Women at the Tomb, two stories with a tragi-comic air by the Belgian author Michel de Ghelderode (1898-1962). A play that is by turns grotesque and fragile, harshly topical and yet utterly timeless. De Pauw at his best, with superb music that breathes life into the piece.

MCBTH
Guy Cassiers & Dominique Pauwels In recent years music and song have played an increasingly important role in Guy Cassiers’ plays. In MCBTH he takes this a step further, working with composer Dominique Pauwels. MCBTH is music theatre that aims to expose something of this play’s brutal poetry through the intense interaction between image, word and song.

The House Taken Over
Vasco Mendonça & Katie Mitchell
Inspired by a novella by Julio Cortázar, the Portuguese composer Vasco Mendonça and the English dramaturge Sam Holcroft immerse themselves in the secrets of a couple played matchlessly by two singers, who in their turn are backed up by an instrumental chamber ensemble. The director Katie Mitchell aims to transpose what remains unspoken, as well as the disturbing alienation of the story, to the stage.
