Director, performer and modern-day court jester Benjamin Abel Meirhaeghe has a penchant for giving archaic forms of opera and ballet new meaning. In this production, Meirhaeghe juxtaposes the whole spectrum of human emotions with the perspective of artificial intelligence. His latest production features various canons, dances and compositions such as those by Mozart, Vivaldi and Schubert.
Abel Meirhaeghe sets in motion a dialogue between tragedy and comedy, a confrontation of the heart and the mind, a discussion between man and machine. In this performance the audience witnesses a dubious conflict between past and present. The theatre is a time machine and the jester is in charge.
