"Young director Aïda Gabriëls assembles a dream cast for Dance of the Seven Veils, which, in a gothic setting, remodels the story of the Biblical Salome into a poignant rite of mourning and love" ★★★ - Knack Focus

“A spectacular show with an exciting and evocative soundscape” - Arts Talk Magazine

Salome has been turning heads for centuries with her infamous Dance of the Seven Veils. Like many others, her ultimate surrender to seduction was hatched by a series of multiple male artists. Dance of the Seven Veils strips Salome of athe dominant, male horny gaze and considers the core of universal human nature, revealing and concealing inner contradictions. An unveiled Salome dances her dance in her palace of stereotypes: the inescapability of human primal forces on a silver platter.

Director Aïda Gabriëls invites musicians Colin H. Van Eeckhout (CHVE & Amenra) and Pieter-Jan Van Assche (Innerwoud) together with soprano Astrid Stockman for a sweltering banquet beyond the boundaries of their own genre. Fuelled by their multilayered soundscape, German Jauregui joins the entourage for a dance, releasing primal forces and fears. Visual artist Rui Barros manipulates and gets manipulated by his very own creations.
