""The Butcher" serves Flemish stew that makes you,(...) ,ruminate for several days" - Etcetera
"De Pauw plays the butcher ready to defend Flanders in this swinging musical theatre with images of biblical proportions" - De Standaard
It's the year 2070, a century after the first Belgian state reformation. Belgium no longer exists. After 4 years of war, Flanders has become independent. A horrendous battle, after which the sky never turned blue again. The families of the Polish construction workers and cleaning ladies who used to work there, now control the country with technologies they secretly built inside the Flemish houses. In the midst of all this, a butcher - the last one in town- and his disabled black son are trying to survive.
LOD-artist Gorges Ocloo writes, directs, composes and plays in The Butcher together with actor Josse De Pauw. Toon Callier & Bertel Schollaert provide live music.
