What is now a cultural hotspot was a health care site for more than seven centuries. Walking around the beautiful Bijloke site and the historic Bijloke Abbey, you put yourself in the shoes of the nuns who worked and lived here. Ora, labora and caritas.

These women left worldly life behind, but at the same time were at the centre of it. A story about obedience and rebellion, care and boss ladies avant la lettre. About how sisters learned to stand their ground, with the Lord in mind.

This guided tour takes in both the outside (the Bijloke site) and the inside (STAM, the Bijloke Abbey). Inside you will see the abbey refectory, dormitory and abbey church where the sisters lived. A ticket for the introductory tour includes admission to the museum.
