A search for new forms of resistance against prevailing values

B4 summer is the second instalment in a cycle of performances by Brussels choreographer and performer Mercedes Dassy. The first part was the solo piece ‘i-clit’, a quest to find an ultra-connected and ultra-sexualised form of feminism and investigate the opposing forces of emancipation and oppression. In B4 summer Dassy continues her search for new forms of resistance against prevailing values.

This time Dassy takes a closer look at how contemporary figures are confronting the contradictions of our feelings and behaviour. Are you lost, tired, confused and indecisive but refuse to give up? B4 summer seeks to ignite the indomitable spirit of revolt lurking inside the audience members. This performance celebrates the body and is an act of resistance against imposed norms. But where to start when everything is problematic?
